Connor Betz

Jr. Machinist

Position: Helping run machines, help with machine assembly, help cleanup/organize the shop, and with always expanding office duties. Learning 5S standards and practices along with lean manufacturing procedures.

Education: Home Schooled, Climax Graduating May 2021

Legacy: Full Career at Betz Machine

Shawn Betz

Owner/President

Position: Overseer of the daily operations within the office, human resource functions, answering customer sales inquiries, new job quoting, and growing both new and existing customer relations

Education: Graduated Climax High School in 1989, Self-taught Solidworks and AutoCAD.

Legacy: Full career at Betz Machine, with 27 years design experience & 32 years machining experience.

Travis Betz

Project Manager

Position: Building and wiring controls panels, creating pneumatic drawings, assemble machines, program IV's/vision systems, and machining parts when needed.

Education: George Brown College Certificate for Programmable Logic, Yamaha Robotics Certificate of Linear Actuators Technician

Legacy: Full career at Betz Machine, 9 years of continuous role growth.

Jaymes Kyle

Operations Manager

Position: Leading operations to expand the company's growth rate by helping enhance the culture for employees and diversify the company's strong product portfolio.

Education: MBA Graduate 2021, multiple degrees in Criminal Justice & Engineering for a grand total of 357 university credit hours.

Legacy: 19 years of work experience, specializing in SolidWorks 3D CAD, Microsoft Data, and Systems Integration.

Frank Bowman III

Automation & Controls Engineer

Position: Machine wiring, setup, and debug, designing electrical schematics, assemble machines, Program HMI's & PLC's, integrate robots, configure vision systems, and perform onsite integration & service calls.

Education: Microcomputer Technician, AAS, Certified Solidworks Associate CSWA, Controller Area Network (CAN) for Vehicle Applications Certified, & Yamaha Robotics Certificate of Linear Actuators Technician

Legacy: 15 Years Machine Design and 15 Years Automation & Controls, totaling approximately 20 Years cumulative.

Reagan Owen

Mechanical Designer

Position: Mechanical designing with SolidWorks CAD software, CNC machine operation, manual machining, machine assembly, and minor involvement with controls when necessary.

Education: Kalamazoo Area Tutoring Association, FTC Robotics through Kellogg Community College

Charles Niswander

Toolmaker

Position: CNC machine operation, manual machining, GibbsCAM programming & machine assembly.

Education: Graduated Harper Creek HS in 1977, Toolmaker apprenticeship, Regional Manufacturing Tech Center 2000-2003.

Legacy: Production machining 1977-2000, Apprentice Toolmaker 2000-2003, & Journeyman Toolmaker 2003-Present.

Dhiloj Vigneswaran

Robot Programmer

Position: Assembling machines, Design HMI and programs for PLC, programming A.I based 2D, 3D and IR vision system, automation of tasks, and assisting with business analytics.

Education: Bachelor’s in Computer Science with background in business and data engineering.

Legacy: 1 year in automotive, exposure in milling and medical industry. 2+ years research in automotive A.I industry. Specialization in NX, Python, C++, C, MATLAB, R and HTML & CSS.

Jeffrey Tavarez

Mechanical Designer

Position: Mechanical Designer, performing 3D SolidWorks modeling with 2D drawings and working cohesively with the controls group.

Education: Bachelors of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Industrial Mechanical Technician.

Legacy: 3 years of experience in SolidWorks and other CAD softwares, 5 months of machine design experience.

Phillip Shepherd

Machinist

Position: CNC machine operation, manual mill machining, CAM programming, raw materials ordering and inventory management, and machine assembly.

Education: Associate of Business Computer Info Systems from Baker College, Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Calvary Chapel Bible College.

Legacy: Full career at Betz Machine, 9 years of continuous role growth.
